Belarus: 7 years in prison for helping victims of Lukashenko’s regime

Belarusian human rights activist Anastazja Łojka was sentenced to 7 years in prison for “inciting social hatred against police officers”. Nastia, the founder of the Human Constanta project, co-authored the report on “Persecution of anarchists, anti-fascists, leftists and social activists in Belarus in 2017-2018”, which eventually became the reason for her criminal case. According to the prosecutor’s office, one of the reports on the persecution of anarchists in Belarus in 2018 contained a critical assessment of the activities of police officers.

Anastasia was first detained on September 6, 2022, after a Revolutionary Action court hearing. Subsequently, she was detained several times under administrative articles. In October, the human rights activist was detained again and charged under the criminal code.
